Skill Icon Logic

Logic

Coding is all about logic, knowing which order things should happen in. You can’t whisk an egg before you crack it – code has similar patterns.

Skill Icon Creativity

There are endless ways to use learnings from The Amazing Annoyatron projects. Kids get inventive pranking friends and family.

Skill Icon Problem Solving

Problem Solving

With tech, things don’t always go to plan. Coding errors can yield hilarious, unexpected results but are also powerful learning opportunities.

Frequently asked questions

What’s the recommended age group?

Our explorer kits are best for children aged 8 and above. The activities require your child to be able to read instructions (mostly pictures) and use a computer. It’s still a fun activity for younger children, especially if they’re tech-savvy, just expect them to need parental assistance with most of the steps.

What type of code will my child learn?

This is a common question we receive from parents who are engineers or have past coding experience. Our explorer kits can be used with an intuitive, block-based coding editor that is simple for children to understand and use. Under the hood, the app translates your child’s block code into C++ which is then compiled and uploaded to the microcontroller via open-source Arduino Software.

Is shipping free?

Yes, of course! There’s no need to worry about any last-minute shipping fees *magically* materialising at checkout. Please note this product ships free to addresses in Australia. Contact us if you want it sent to an overseas address and we’ll provide a quote.

Is any soldering required?

Our explorer kits have all the fun of building circuits without any soldering! The kit includes a number of components that easily push together to form circuits. This allows children to learn electrical concepts in a safe and engaging manner.

Do I need to buy batteries?

All projects can be built and operated tethered to your computer with the provided USB cable. To run inventions un-tethered you will need 1 x 9 volt battery. This is not supplied in the kit.
